Tim Tebow had a great run through the middle of the season. Four weeks ago at the start of the game against the New England Patriots for a quarter the magic was still there. Over the next three quarters the game got ugly for Tebow and the Broncos. Since then it has been three more ugly games. Turnovers, fumbles, very little offense, and Tebow himself has been to put it charitably....awful.
I love the Tim Tebow story. I loved his success. I loved the story so much I was hoping for him to defeat our Patriots three weeks ago.
Despite four losses the Broncos, with the good fortune to be in the AFC West in a down year have made the playoffs. Can they turn around their slide. One would doubt it. They will be playing the big bad Steelers. Still, I will be watching. I will be hoping and I will be wanting Tebow to succeed and the Broncos to win.
It is nice to see a positive story about a positive person. If the struggle continues though it promises to be another long summer in Tebowland. Clearly his limitations are significant and John Elway is not going to let the ship sink even if folks love Tim Tebow.
I want him to succeed. I hope for the best. Yes I pray for him to do well. I just am not sure that God is that invested in the outcome of a football game..even one with Tim Tebow in it.
