Jon Stewart Destroys Mitt Romney

On last nights Jon Stewart show he delivered a report on Mitt Romney and the whole controversy regarding his tax rate. Mitt Romney released his tax return under fire and as we all now know in 2010 he paid a tax rate of just under 14 percent.

This is troubling on many levels. First and foremost with the Occupy moment taking a big part of the oxygen on the left Romney's timing is horrific.

Secondly we have Romney arguing, not just for his taxes being lower by percentage than the average worker, we have him advocating for lower taxes still.

Thirdly we have clips of Romney argueing in 2007 against raising the tax rate on earnings on investments from the 15 percent it is now and he takes advantage of to 30 percent.

When the opposition party argues for a fairness tax on millionaries and calling it the Romney rule you know you have an image problem.

Add that to his apparent tin ear on all things relating to wealth and tax policy and Romney has some serious issues.

If the average voter saw the Stewart interview from beginning to end it would be hard to see them voting for Romney.

This is going to be an issue that will not go away. Romney is a walnut.
