Mitt Romney will win the New Hampshire primary today. It does seem like perhaps this should be a foregone conclusion with him being a former Governor of a neighboring state such as Massachussets. Romey has more money to run his campaign than his rivals put together. When the final decision is made by Republicans they are going to express a desire to win that is much stronger than their actual like and trust of Romney.
The Conservatives are never going to trust Romney and if they can then it would seem that Romney has no core of belief. Of course, anyone who thinks our current President has any real core of belief has not been paying attention. A candidate that has a core of convictions that he holds out, despite whatever misgivings those listening might have, is a candidate that I admire.
Romney has been pro choice and now is pro life. Romney created an individual mandate for the citizens of Massachussets but claims he will repeal Obamacare.
Romney said that he would work to increase the rights of gay citizens but now states he is in the corner of those who would limit their current privleges such as civil unions, equal employment etc.
I belive Mitt Romney is a good man. I believe he is a good man like most people who were born rich, have no idea what it is like to struggle to pay the bills, and are convinced that they know more than they think they do. I believe he has baggage that will come back to bite him in a general election. His flip flops are only the beginning, his Bain Capital experience can be spun in a negative light, his seeming inability to connect with people and his overall perception of being a phony.
Romney will be a strong candidate. Still one wonders why Jon Huntsman who is surely a more Conservative candidate with a bit of a populist tread might not be a cndidate that the Republicans should look at. I do not agree with him on everything, but a Republican who seemingly is willing to acknowledge that big business, corporate welfare and big banks are large issues that might best be dealt with from a populist Conservative before the whole thing caves in could be a very strong candidate.
I am so down on Obama that I will consider whoever the Republicans put forth. Romney however is a very unlikable candidate.
