In This Corner Jan Brewer

It is most likely unfair when commentating on Jan Brewer, the conservative Governor of Arizona, to note that she looks like she has sandpaper skin and perhaps one living in Arizona would be smarter about the sun. Therefore I will not.

Brewer has become a favorite in Conservative circles. Last year her bringing into the spotlight the immigration issue by advocating and signing the restrictive Arizona immigration law.

Last week her confrontation with the President on his visit to Arizona showed again how low civility has come. As the President landed, unannounced Brewer stormed out on the tarmac to pass Obama a letter. This was showboating pure and simple. We are told that the President, caught by surprise, made a sarcastic comment about her book and her opinion expressed about the President.

This led to the famous finger pointing incident. This picture, in itself is easily turned into whatever one wants it to be . A white woman, a black man, a close conversation leading to finger pointing and apparently raised voices. From anyside of the political spectrum one can draw a combustible caption on such a picture.

Brewer overstepped. Obama probably was less than Presidential in his response. Neither looks good out of this with the middle but those on the left and right will, per usual, see what they want to see.
