Maybe it comes with the territory. If so that is unfortunate. Micheal Steele was not very popular in our house when he was the GOP chair. Yet now that he is paid to be a Republican commentator on MSNBC while one might not agree with him he is certainly intelligent, well spoken and polite.
His replacement Mr. Priebus of course only has to please his party, certainly not moderate Democrats in the state of Maine. However on Face the Nation Sunday Priebus clumsily tried to compare the President with the captain of the sunken ship in Italy. It was a poor comparison. As Joe Scarborough has said over the last couple of days with folks dieing and missing in that incident the comparison is foolish at best and ghoulish at worst.
Reince needs to walk that back. Not a bright spot for him.
