Term Limits

After FDR served his four terms Republicans wanted to make sure that nobody could do that to them again. In the eighties at the height of Republican power they wished Reagan could run again.

In very few cases of the fickle American public would it even be a viable option. But in these days of younger Presidents and longer lifespans would it not make sense to have an option of a President serving later. In Maine you may only serve two terms but then after sitting out a term you can run again. Often that former popularity will wane in your absence as Joe Brennan's repeated attempts to regain the magic show..but does anyone think that Bill Clinton would not be a better President today with his experience than he was the first time.

His empathy, his ideas, his intelligence, all of these things would make him the only candidate that I could get excited about. And yes his humanness. Bill Clinton would be a wonderful President. This cannot happen and perhaps that is for the best.

However I think with the problems we have anything that eliminates someone would be an effective leader from consideration is a mistake.
